Job Summary
Senior Substation Protection Engineer responsible for configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relay systems in high voltage substations; develops one-line, three-line, schematic and wiring diagrams for HV substations (4.16 kV–500 kV), mentors less experienced staff, and may travel occasionally to project sites; engagement requires strong power system protection and control expertise, team leadership, and effective communication to coordinate design efforts across conceptual to final designs.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE or MSEE required
- 5+ years of experience specifying, configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations
- extensive background in power system protection and control
- proven experience managing a team
- excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and writing skills
- may be subject to client mandated drug and background checks
- must meet requirements of auto insurance carrier
- not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
