Senior Substation Engineer - P&C

Job Summary
Analyze, evaluate, and create new designs and drawings, including single line diagrams, facility studies, and equipment plans. Revise existing designs and work within an integrated project team to develop general arrangement, foundation, grounding, and control building plans. Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints while providing design review, constructive feedback, and mentorship to junior team members. Conduct client meetings and walk downs as needed. This full-time hybrid role requires three office days per week and two remote days, with a preferred location in Elkridge, MD.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in electrical/electronics engineering or a closely related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience, inclusive of physical layout and substation design
- Utility project experience with strong knowledge of electrical codes including NEC and NESC
- Knowledge of Microstation and/or AutoCAD
- Ability to work on a team and on multiple projects
- Ability to understand and incorporate comments and feedback
- Ability to provide design reviews
- Ability to adapt to various client standards and procedures
- Personal time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines
- Attention to detail and pride in work product quality
- Ability and willingness to support and mentor more junior team members
- Three days per week (typically Tuesday-Thursday) are expected to be in the office
- Two days per week from home
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical power engineering
- PE strongly preferred
