Job Summary
Senior Sub-System Lead Engineer for High Voltage Battery Management Systems and embedded vehicle mechatronics controls. Lead requirements definition, design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution across the vehicle development lifecycle. Emphasizes embedded software development, battery system knowledge, and MBSE/SDLC practices. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining system-level requirements and documentation (e.g., context/state diagrams, SSTS, BTS), applying Behavioral Driven Development, guiding subsystem design across diverse vehicle architectures, leading Triad meetings, performing subsystem analysis (noise, interface mapping, sensor/actuator performance), driving DFMEAs and FMEA processes, supporting MBSE requirements and API capabilities for the Battery State Estimation component, and contributing to regulatory, safety, and calibration requirements. Collaboration with Controls and Software Engineers to ensure requirement compliance, participating in agile/Scrum ceremonies, and engaging with Product Team Members, FSAs, other SSLEs, and Systems Engineers. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees and broader experience in calibration, simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS), DOORS NG, Jira, ISO 26262, SAFe, and model-based testing. The role is hybrid with on-site presence in Milford, MI at least three days per week, and may be eligible for relocation benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical, or a related engineering field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong expertise in embedded software development
