Job Summary
Senior Structures Design Engineer for Wing & Empennage Life Cycle Product Team at The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC. Leads the development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish wing and empennage design; uses 3-D CAD and other methods to provide product definition; leads tests and analyzes to verify the design meets requirements; manages supplier development, test and production activities; investigates emerging technologies for future concepts; grows a lead-level team through mentorship and training; develops certification documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects; collaborates with international partners and regulatory interactions; applies CFR Part 21 and Part 25 knowledge; works with minimal direction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience with aircraft structural design
- 3+ years of experience with design of composite structures
