Senior Structural Project Manager

Job Summary

Lead and supervise the design and construction of diverse projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and attainment of the highest quality standards. Conduct regular meetings with the engineering team, collaborate with other disciplines, and engage with contractors throughout the design and construction phases. Contribute to the generation and management of project schedules, budgets, and resource priorities. Address and resolve technical challenges during both the design process and construction phase. Prepare comprehensive structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform all necessary calculations for effective design. Foster continuous development and coaching of project staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis
  • P.E. license
  • Minimum of 10 years of full-time progressive experience in structural engineering

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Structural Engineering license, S.E.
  • Three or more years of experience in leading multi-discipline project teams
  • Practical experience working with the California Division of the State Architects (DSA)
  • Strong understanding of the California Building Code (CBC)
  • Proficiency in widely-used structural engineering and office tools, encompassing ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Expertise in designing various structural materials, such as steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
