Job Summary
Oversee field inspections for road conditions, bridges, and construction projects while verifying material quality and testing results against specifications. Compile quantities, review construction reports, and generate daily inspection reports and diaries documenting contractor work. Identify deficiencies, non-conformances, and safety hazards, then communicate findings to project management and contractors. Coach staff, participate in contractual meetings, and conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions. Maintain detailed records, photographs, and documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines. This role requires working outdoors on uneven terrain in variable climate conditions, including heights, and involves lifting equipment up to 50 pounds. Applicants must hold a valid US Driver's License and possess U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid US Driver's License
- Must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to carry, lift, loading & unloading testing equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
- Ability to work outdoors on uneven terrain and in variable climate conditions including heat, snow, cold, wind, etc.
- Ability to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
Desired Qualifications
- 4 plus years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on the supervisory of construction inspection and contract compliance
- Basic computer skills; MS Office
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-motivator
- Team oriented
- Certification in the field testing procedures in concrete, soil aggregate, hot mix asphalt
- NICET certification
