Job Summary
Manage and lead bridge design projects from concept through construction for key transportation infrastructure in Connecticut and New England. Oversee technical design teams ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards while collaborating with Project Managers to drive project delivery and quality. Review structural calculations, plans, and specifications, and lead mentoring of junior engineers to foster technical growth. Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership. This role requires a Registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut with 12-20 years of progressive bridge design experience, including large-scale DOT projects. Salary ranges from $145,000 to $155,000 depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Connecticut (or ability to become registered)
- 12-20 years of progressive structural/bridge engineering design experience
- Experience in steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge design, inspection, and load rating
- Solid knowledge of and proficiency in applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation to transportation structures
- Proficiency in design and analysis software such as AASHTOWare (BrR/D), Midas Civil, STAAD, LEAP Concrete and Steel, Microstation, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
- Experience working with CTDOT standards and manuals
- Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts, oversee preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and deliverables
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Master's degree preferred
- NBIS certification is a plus
