Job Summary
Lead the preparation and review of complex structural design deliverables, including studies, calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications. Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) as required; perform design checks, internal technical reviews, and quality control of team deliverables. Provide clear direction, redlines, and technical guidance to EITs and BIM designers while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Support construction activities by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and addressing field issues. Mentor less experienced staff, plan assignments, and ensure adherence to MBI standards and protocols. Engage with clients to support project delivery and contribute to business development efforts. Available for periodic travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural, Architectural, or Civil Engineering
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years licensure as Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Pennsylvania
- Proficiency with RAM SS, RISA 3D, ETABS, Revit, Enercalc, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge of structural design codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, AISC, TMS, and ACI
- Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate across teams and interface with clients
- Available for periodic travel
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to gain licensure as a Structural Engineer (SE) in states that recognize such
- Experience with the Whole Building Design Guide and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for Department of Defense projects
- Experience with seismic design for new construction and seismic evaluation of existing buildings
- A master's degree may substitute for 1–2 years of experience
