Job Summary
Senior Structural Engineer responsible for design and analysis of structural systems for a new building project in New York, including reinforced concrete and steel components. Perform structural analysis using SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, and develop detailed drawings with AutoCAD and Revit. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers; assist in project management tasks; review submittals and RFIs; ensure compliance with local building codes; visit construction sites as required. This is a contract-to-hire, in-office role in New York five days per week, with emphasis on producing designs, analyses, and detailed reports while mentoring junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering
- ability to obtain PE license
- 3-10+ years of experience in structural engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Knowledge of SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural System/SAFE
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and nonlinear analysis of structures
- Ability to collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Site visits during construction
