Job Summary
Lead medium to large engineering projects, directing teams through budget, schedule, and quality control while making decisive, independent decisions on design solutions. Apply intensive engineering principles to resolve critical questions, coordinate inter-discipline efforts, and accept or reject major materials and equipment. Serve as a key technical specialist and advisor, guiding teams through policy challenges and complex developments while mentoring junior engineers on structural principles and code application. Define project scope, manage change warnings, and drive business growth through strategic client engagement and proactive development initiatives. Support risk management by identifying design vulnerabilities related to seismic performance and load path continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice
- PE required or SE licensed with eight (8) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s)
- Working knowledge of BIM collaboration and review platforms including ACC/BIM360, Bluebeam, and Navisworks
- Thorough understanding of US building codes and standards applicable to seismic and structural design: ASCE, ACI, AISC 341, IBC, and applicable state-specific amendments
- Strong client-facing communication skills with experience leading technical discussions with architects, contractors, and owners
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-discipline coordination, review processes, and change control in complex projects
- Experience on Industrial and Manufacturing building projects
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Proven ability to interpret and apply seismic detailing and design requirements for concrete, steel, and foundation systems in seismic design categories D-F
- Experience on data center and/or pharmaceutical projects
