Job Summary
Senior Structural Engineer for historic preservation and seismic retrofit projects in Portland, OR. Develop innovative solutions for historic and existing buildings, contribute to non-linear analysis and performance-based design, mentor rising engineers, drive quality control and technical excellence, and shape project scope and resources across multiple offices. Requires 6+ years of structural engineering experience, a PE license (SE preferred), and a BS/MS in Civil/Structural Engineering. Proficiency with ETABS, SAP, and RISA; familiarity with ASCE 41; knowledge of historic renovations and non-ductile concrete; strong communication and leadership abilities. Hybrid work environment in Portland, with collaboration across West Coast offices.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years in structural engineering
- PE license (SE preferred)
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Experience with ASCE 41 and exposure to a variety of material types and structural systems
- Knowledge of non-ductile concrete buildings, performance-based design, historic renovations, and peer reviews
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers for delivery of projects
- Ability to balance independent work and teamwork across multiple offices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced skills in ETABS, SAP, RISA
