Job Summary

Lead design efforts for the analysis of structural systems, using engineering software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports, while interacting with clients to gather requirements and build strong professional relationships. Provide in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes to meet industry and client standards, and offer technical training and mentoring to assist in resolving field issues with limited senior staff support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for water infrastructure, heavy civil, and transportation projects across Texas, prioritizing safety and contributing to sustainable design goals. Full-time hybrid schedule with up to 20% travel; PE license and 7+ years of experience required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 7 years of experience in the building design consulting industry
  • Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate effective team building skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
