Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings

Job Summary
Lead and shape projects across commercial, institutional, educational, and industrial sectors by overseeing structural design for concrete, steel, and mass timber buildings. Manage project delivery, including financial performance, change orders, and submissions, while conducting feasibility studies, preliminary designs, and technical assessments. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams from conceptual stages through completion, ensuring compliance with the quality assurance program and Ontario Building Code. Provide technical support during construction remotely and on-site, prepare proposals, and mentor junior engineers. This hybrid role requires 2 days at the Bowmanville or Mississauga office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Minimum 12 years of experience in design, construction and project management of structural buildings projects
- Membership as Engineer from Professional Engineer Ontario (PEO)
- Experience leading structural design of buildings while working in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with proposal and change order documentation preparation
- In depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Canadian design standards
- Knowledge of structural analysis software and design tools (eg SAP2000 or similar)
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (for site visits, as required)
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
