Job Summary
Senior Structural Engineer - Building Structures responsible for designing structural engineering for discrete work packages including reports, calculation packages and specifications; supervising technicians in producing 3D models and drawings; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated design solutions; communicating designs verbally, through sketches, drawings, writing, and presentations; conducting site inspections during construction to assess existing structures; reporting to the lead structural engineer and engaging with multidisciplinary teams including external consultants to contribute to project success. Security clearance will be required prior to appointment.
Required Qualifications
- An engineering degree and are progressing towards Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE)
- A working knowledge of structural engineering principles and the application of Eurocodes
- A developing understanding of the appropriate use of analytical techniques and design software
- An interest in low carbon design and the assessment of embodied carbon in your design solutions
- A willingness to take responsibility for your designs, be proactive and support less experienced members of the team
- Successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment
