Senior Structural CAD Designer - Bridges

Job Summary
Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge structures using CAD and BIM tools in accordance with design specifications. Develop general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and construction documentation aligned with structural design requirements. Interpret engineering sketches and design mark-ups to produce accurate drafting outputs while ensuring compliance with drafting standards, QA/QC procedures, and client-specific documentation requirements. Maintain drawing revision control, document tracking, and version management for all project deliverables. Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams for design coordination and model integration within BIM environments, supporting quantity take-offs and contributing to design presentation materials. Participate in project coordination meetings to provide technical drafting input related to structural design execution for Ontario transportation infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years of CAD drafting experience within civil, structural, or infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience in bridge or transportation structure projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or Revit
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and structural design principles
- Experience with construction documentation, reinforcement detailing, and technical drafting standards
- Ability to manage drawing production workflows, revision control, and documentation accuracy
- Effective collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on Ontario transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, highways)
- Exposure to BIM coordination processes and federated model environments
- Familiarity with quantity take-offs and project estimation support
- Experience working across multiple office locations or distributed project teams
- Knowledge of client-specific standards and public sector infrastructure guidelines
