Senior Structural Building Engineer

Job Summary
Lead structural design and analysis for aviation, aerospace, federal, health & science, and commercial building projects, serving as technical lead for major initiatives. Prepare and oversee structural calculations, engineering analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and structural analysis software. Coordinate with architecture, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other disciplines while participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposal support. Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct field observations, and support construction administration activities to verify design intent. Mentor junior staff, review their work for technical accuracy, and solve complex engineering challenges through innovative design solutions. Ensure achievement of key technical milestones and stay current with structural engineering standards and building codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 7+ years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Experience leading portions of major projects or managing multiple moderate-sized projects
- Proven experience providing technical guidance and reviewing junior staff work for technical accuracy
- Strong understanding of structural design codes including ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and related standards
- Proficiency in Revit and structural analysis/design software such as ETABS, RAM, Enercalc, or similar platforms
- Strong communication, coordination, client interaction, and collaboration skills
- Ability to independently solve complex engineering problems and make technical decisions
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents
