Job Summary
Design engineering of bridges and structures for road, highway, and transit systems in Pennsylvania, including complex tasks, CAD extraction, and material quantity takeoffs. Prepare engineering computations, estimates, surveys, and designs, then issue specifications and construction documents. Interface with other engineering disciplines and departments while providing technical guidance to designers and drafters. Review supplier submittals, perform technical bid analyses, and prepare equipment requisitions. Provide professional engineer seal and signature as appropriate, ensuring compliance with codes and ordinances. Act in an advisory capacity to senior management on engineering matters.
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years of related work experience
- 4-year degree (BS) in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
- This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team
- This role requires candidates to be located in either our Harrisburg, Cranberry Township, or Plymouth Meeting offices
Desired Qualifications
- MS in Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer registration
- Working knowledge of some state Bridge Design Manuals
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or Microstation
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Good leadership and emotional intelligence skills
