Senior Strategic Writer, US Citizens with active clearance

Job Summary
Develop and implement strategic communications plans, executive briefings, and messaging aligned with organizational priorities. Synthesize complex operational, technical, and strategic information into clear communications for senior leaders and diverse audiences. Coordinate inputs for governance boards, executive forums, and working groups while documenting decisions and tracking follow-up actions. Research, analyze, and translate data into compelling narratives and visual products appropriate for executive audiences. Review and edit all communication products for accuracy, clarity, and tone consistency. Manage multiple communication products, staffing actions, and deadlines while maintaining version control throughout approval processes.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a CAC card
- Valid U.S. passport
- 8+ years of experience supporting strategic communications, executive communications, technical or strategic writing, or related DoD activities
- Experience supporting a DoD Service, Headquarters-level organization, or comparable senior military staff
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic communications plans, executive briefings, presentations, reports, messaging, and senior-leader communication products
- Experience supporting executive-level governance boards, decision forums, working groups, or similar senior leadership activities
- Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize complex information from multiple sources into clear and concise communications
- Strong strategic writing, editing, briefing development, proofreading, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to translate complex technical, operational, and strategic information into products appropriate for executive and stakeholder audiences
- Ability to coordinate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, action officers, and Government stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Ability to manage multiple communication products, staffing actions, deadlines, and revisions
- Ability to travel as required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, Strategic Studies, or a related field
- Previous experience supporting the U.S. Marine Corps, Department of the Navy, Joint Staff, or other DoD Headquarters organization
- Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans at the DoD Service or Headquarters level
- Experience developing executive-level presentations, talking points, speeches, information papers, decision briefs, and strategic messaging
- Experience supporting senior-level governance boards and executive decision-making processes
- Knowledge of military staffing, coordination, strategic planning, and communication processes
