Job Summary
Senior Storyboard Artist who will originate and refine storyboard sequences from script or verbal brief; transform rough boards and animatic-stage boards into clean, production-ready sequences with clear movement, expressive acting, and strong camera language; collaborate with the director and story/art teams, mentor junior board artists, and prepare finalized boards for presentation and handoff. Must demonstrate mastery of gesture, perspective, staging, and cinematic storytelling, and be proficient with Storyboard Pro and Photoshop to operate within a fast-paced feature production.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional drawing skills with gesture, expression, action, perspective, and appeal
- Demonstrated ability to develop sequences from scratch—from script, thumbnail, or verbal direction—into clear, story-ready boards
- Deep understanding of emotional performance and character acting; able to convey nuance through poses and expressions
- Proven ability to sustain high-quality output at a fast pace
- Strong command of cinematic principles: camera placement, lens choice, framing, staging, and shot-to-shot continuity
- Fluency with digital tools including Storyboard Pro and Photoshop; comfortable in a digital pipeline
- Strong collaborative skills with professional approach to feedback, revision cycles, and cross-department communication
- Experience in animation workflows and understanding of how boards interface with layout and animation
- Ability to draw live in front of a director/team with ease
