Senior Stores Officer

Job Summary
Operate and maintain fleet stores and depots in Lancashire, managing parts and stock ordering via telephone and email. Receive, book in, and rotate stock while identifying items, issuing parts to jobs, and resolving problem issues. Unload and load vehicles using MH equipment and forklift trucks, logging tooling issuance and returns. Liaise with technicians and supervisors regarding parts availability, technical information, and account queries from suppliers and internal teams. Cover colleague and manager roles during absences, ensuring work area housekeeping and adherence to health and safety routines including opening, closing, and key holding.
Required Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE standard with passes in English and Maths (Grade C/level 4 or above)
- Full UK valid driver's License
- Ability to lift products to 20kg
- Ability to communicate efficiently
- Ability to work as member of a team
- Ability to work with only limited supervision

Desired Qualifications
- Possession of or the ability to demonstrate the capability to gain, relevant qualifications, licences or equivalent where applicable
- Forklift truck License or willing to train for one
- Stores/ warehouse qualification NVQ etc
- Previous relevant stores experience or the ability to demonstrate the competence to carry out the job
- Stores experience covering: checking deliveries and putting stock away, goods receipting, stock transfers, stock issuing, stock checking of parts, creating and placing purchase orders, collecting/ delivering parts, Setting up new part numbers
- Dealing with invoice/account queries, setting up new suppliers
- Excellent telephone manner and use of email for ordering parts
- Experience of computer systems and their application In stores/parts Operations
- Good ICT skills (using Microsoft office programs)
- Awareness of health and safety at work
- Flexible in your approach to starting early and finishing late and working overtime
- Knowledge of car, commercial, plant and fire equipment spares
- Forklift truck driving inside and outside a workshop in all weather conditions
