Job Summary
The Senior Staff Systems Engineer at Globalstar will work on the design of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite and Ground Network systems with a focus on 5G technologies. Responsibilities include defining NTN RAN requirements, conducting link budget and air interface capacity studies, interacting with developer partners, participating in vendor selection, and defining required bearer services. The role requires extensive experience in Wireless SATCOM systems engineering and product development, specifically within LEO and GEO systems, and necessitates strong technical skills and a bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering degree
- 10+ years of recent and direct hands-on experience with Wireless SATCOM Systems Engineering
- 10+ years of experience with LEO or GEO SATCOM, Ground, and Network systems
- Experience implementing 3GPP NR NB-IoT L1, L2 standards
- Experience with writing technical requirements
- Experience with wireless SATCOM product development
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering degree
- Familiarity with 3GPP Standards (documents and process and release roadmap)
- Understanding of upper layer wireless data services
