Senior Staff / Staff Back-End Engineer

Senior Staff / Staff Back-End Engineer on Coupang's Pricing team. Architect and implement next-generation pricing determination platforms, collaborating with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to resolve complex business challenges. Lead engineers on mission-critical projects, define roadmaps and a technical vision for scalable pricing services, and build extensible, high-availability systems for a globally used e-commerce platform. Work with distributed systems, open-source technologies, and cloud-native stacks (e.g., Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker). Contribute to designing layered applications, driving architectural quality, and delivering reliable pricing and commerce capabilities that impact tens of millions of users daily. Recommended qualifications include proficiency in Java, experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Flink), real-time data pipelines, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and prior experience in e-commerce or high-traffic consumer platforms. English communication skills are required for collaboration across geographic locations.
