Job Summary
Dive deep into the current monolithic architecture to identify pain points and design iterative solutions, then lead the development of a scalable, cloud-native microservices ecosystem transitioning from a complex Python-based system. Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to evaluate frameworks, define timelines, and execute strategies for handling petabytes of daily data. Write high-quality, production-ready code while guiding and mentoring engineers to foster architectural excellence. This role requires proficiency in Java, Go, or Python, along with extensive experience in distributed systems and Kubernetes. Required Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering experience
- Proven expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems
- Microservices architecture expertise with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Demonstrated experience leading the transition from a monolithic architecture to cloud-native microservices
- Proficiency in Java
- Proficiency in Go
- Experience with Python (considered a plus)
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
- Container orchestration experience using Kubernetes and Docker
- Strong technical communication skills
- Ability to articulate architectural concepts
- Ability to influence engineering direction across teams, departments, and stakeholders
- Only Prague-based employees are required to work from the office at least 2 days/week
Desired Qualifications
- Additional experience in Python
