Job Summary
Senior/Staff Platform Engineer to design and scale backend services, build AI-powered agents, and own the data layer for a seed-funded AI and supply chain automation startup. Responsibilities include architecting Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing; developing production-grade NLP/ML pipelines with OCR and information extraction; designing Supabase/PostgreSQL schemas and migrations; building event-driven pipelines for order state management; implementing caching and rate limiting; and driving platform reliability with monitoring, alerting, and incident response. Required skills include experience in the supply chain domain, ACID/exactly-once semantics and idempotent APIs, ERP and freight API integrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle), NLP/ML pipelines, OCR, and a tech stack comprising TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG architectures, AWS, containerization, CI/CD, and RESTful patterns. Candidates should have 2–10+ years of software engineering experience; location: On-site in San Francisco, CA; compensation-$160k–$250k USD annually; visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- 2–10+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience within the supply chain domain (manufacturing, procurement, logistics, or freight workflows)
- Proven experience designing reliable data processing with transactional guarantees — ACID semantics, exactly-once processing, and idempotent APIs
- Experience with NLP/ML pipelines for extracting data from unstructured documents and emails, including OCR and information extraction
- Familiarity integrating with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and freight/carrier APIs
- Strong computer science fundamentals; all educational backgrounds welcome
- Tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG architectures, AWS, containerization, CI/CD, RESTful patterns
- 2–10+ years of relevant software engineering experience
