Senior/Staff Software Development Engineer, EV Platform

Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer on the EV Platform team to design and implement scalable data pipelines and backend services powering the EV charging data infrastructure. You will work on the ingestion pipeline processing data from a global network of charge point operators, build systems to reconcile and unify charging station data, design data validation and quality systems, and develop internal tooling and dashboards. You will participate in end-to-end feature implementation within the Mapbox ecosystem, review code and design documents, shepherd feature releases, and engage with product owners and partner teams to steer future data platform direction. You will contribute to data health, monitoring, and the deployment of reliable, scalable services, while emphasizing collaboration, learning, and strong communication in English. You will also explore thoughtful integration of AI into engineering workflows as part of the interview process.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years Rust in production backend services
- Experience building highly available backend services and data pipelines in containerized environments on AWS (Docker, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including pipeline design and data quality validation
- Experience with distributed systems and performance tuning
- Ability to work in a collaborative team and communicate in English
- Experience with automated testing and contributing to feature releases
- Familiarity with AI integration in engineering workflows is valued
