Job Summary
Lead RF test activities for spacecraft hardware, driving high-value testing campaigns and automation. Responsible for development and management of test campaigns for current production hardware and newly developed RF hardware, mentoring a team of test engineers, analyzing test results, and providing detailed reports. Collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to incorporate changes, develop test plans and GSE for risk mitigation and verification/validation, and conduct environmental testing to ensure performance across conditions. Utilize expertise with RF test equipment (network/spectrum analyzers, AWGs), RF principles, and scripting (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) to improve test quality and efficiency, while adhering to safety and ITAR requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 12 years related experience, or master’s degree + 8 years related experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with RF circuits and/or systems
- Expert knowledge of equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and arbitrary waveform generators
- Proficiency in data analysis and signal processing tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) for test automation
- Strong understanding of RF system architectures and RF principles
- Hands-on experience with RF PCB-based circuits
- Experience handling spacecraft flight hardware safely
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Capella ITAR-related export regulations compliance requirements
- Preferred knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and operations
- Experience operating in contamination- and ESD-sensitive environments
- Experience testing high-power RF electronics
- To conform to ITAR, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
