Senior/Staff/Principal Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Set direction for systems engineering processes, frameworks, and methodologies, defining objectives and roadmaps to navigate project scope ambiguity. Resolve undefined scenarios by proactively identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies while establishing scalable practices within the team. Mentor less experienced engineers to foster professional growth and demonstrate best practices in systems engineering, project management, and problem-solving. Partner with product, software, hardware, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions. Lead by example in ambiguous environments to drive cross-functional collaboration toward technical goals.
Required Qualifications
- Strong systems engineering skills, including systems engineering methodology, requirements management, safety analysis, and system verification and validation
- Proven experience in designing and implementing systems engineering frameworks and processes
- Experience with requirement management tools (e.g. Polarian, DOORS, Jama) and system modelling tools (e.g. SysML, MagicDraw)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other systems engineers
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and how they relate to systems engineering
- Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO26262, SOTIF, etc
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related role, with experience in a senior or leadership capacity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity
- A passion for continuous learning and the ability to quickly acquire domain-specific knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Expertise in systems architecture, network infrastructure, and system integration
- Experience with verification test case management and traceability tools
- Experience with simulation tools
- Experience in engineering/robotics domains, working with distributed systems consisting of hardware, software, and cloud-based applications
- Familiarity with INCOSE, ASEP, CSEP certification
