Job Summary
Senior Staff Migration Consultant role at Nutanix combines senior-level migration architecture and consulting leadership for hybrid cloud and virtualization projects. Lead migration discovery, planning, and scoping for large customers; function as technical SME and team lead on migration engagements; conduct client workshops; collaborate on secure, scalable hybrid cloud designs; provide pre-sales support; develop comprehensive documentation and best practices; drive first-year objectives and foster continuous learning. Requires extensive hybrid cloud/network/virtualization experience, datacenter migration leadership, automation development, strong knowledge of virtualization/storage/networking, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and solid communication skills. Travel up to 70% is expected; work is primarily remote with occasional in-person engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hybrid cloud network and virtualization architecture experience
- Technical lead planning and executing datacenter-scale technology migrations
- Strong experience in virtualization, storage, networking, and operating system technologies
- Experience supporting datacenter infrastructure for high-performance, multi-tier, database, and business-critical applications
- Experience in regulated environments and managing change control processes
- Experience developing automation to accelerate migration efforts and adapting automation to new platforms
- Expertise in network technologies including ingress/egress, proxies, load balancing, and overlays
- Cloud proficiency in designing and deploying VMs, storage, networking, and databases
- Experience managing Layer 4 firewalls with knowledge of Layer 2/3 design and operations
- Familiarity with Azure and AWS networking concepts and best practices
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to whiteboard solutions and create documentation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
- CCNA, VCAP, NCX or comparable experience preferred
- Ability to complete NCX certification within 12 months of hire
- Remote work arrangement with travel as needed
- Coordinating with global teams across AMER, EMEA, APAC
