Job Summary
Senior Staff Engineer for the Location Group in Samsung's San Jose headquarters. Lead the development of location technologies using GNSS signals (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, Beidou) and design/optimize receiver models in C/C++ for RTL verification and receiver algorithms. Responsibilities include designing advanced signal processing algorithms and front-end/baseband architectures for location receivers, working with large end-to-end simulation models to benchmark system performance, collaborating with DV/RTL/SW/FW teams to model/verify ASIC implementations, performing FPGA/ASIC bring-up and lab testing, and conducting detailed data analysis of product logs. The role involves travel (internationally and domestically) to support product optimization and collaboration across geographies. Requires strong software skills, deep GNSS receiver knowledge, and excellent communication and teamwork. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master with 13+ years or Ph.D. with 10+ years in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, or related
- Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB
- Deep understanding and experience with wireless receiver architecture for GNSS receivers and/or CDMA receivers such as AGC, DSP filters, correlators, FFT, AFC and PLL
- Excellent foundation in signal processing, detection theory, estimation theory, wireless channels, random processes, demodulation and decoding
- Good understanding of GNSS acquisition and tracking algorithms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Data analysis, visualization and triage experience
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with Jira, Gerrit, Git
- Strong debugging skills, disciplined coding practice, and proficient code analysis skills
