Senior Staff Engineer - Structural

Job Summary
Conduct structural analysis and design for building systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures. Prepare technical reports, calculations, and supporting design documentation while coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical, and architecture disciplines. Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and assist with field observations and site visits to evaluate existing structures and construction progress. Support project managers with scheduling, coordination, and technical deliverables to ensure designs meet applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices. Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus or Structural Engineering
- 2–4 years of structural design experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire
- Working knowledge of structural design software such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar analysis programs
- Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and other applicable design codes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Willingness to travel to project sites to perform construction inspections and structural field observations in New Jersey and New York
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred
