Job Summary
Senior Staff Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain OpenStack-based cloud environments, lead automation of cloud operations, and optimize CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities include implementing and improving monitoring and observability stacks, containerization initiatives, and automation scripts using Python/Ansible/GitHub Workflows; mentoring junior engineers; collaborating with development, operations, and security teams; participating in on-call/off-hours support; and sharing best practices to improve processes across teams. Qualifications emphasize hands-on OpenStack administration, Python/Ansible scripting, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and strong debugging skills. Education required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience. Salary range: $110,000 - $260,000 annual. Location options include Richardson, TX; Palo Alto, CA; Bethesda, MD; Seattle, WA with remote flexibility within the US.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering
- OpenStack administration and operations
- Python programming and scripting
- Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability in cloud environments (Grafana, Prometheus)
- Experience with infrastructure as code and deployment automation
- Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills
