Job Summary
Support the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects including roadway improvements, drainage systems, and capital improvement programs. Perform engineering calculations, prepare technical specifications and construction documents, and develop plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Coordinate with project managers, review shop drawings and RFIs, and provide construction support services including site visits and field inquiries. Assist with permit applications, cost estimates, and project budgets while ensuring compliance with codes and agency requirements. This role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 2–4 years of municipal experience, and an EIT certification. The position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 to $90,000 with comprehensive benefits at French & Parrello Associates in Newark, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering or public infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of municipal design standards and permitting processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
