Job Summary
Architect, implement, and operate highly available messaging solutions using Microsoft Exchange (on-premises/hybrid/Exchange Online), Azure services, SMTP relays, and IMAP while establishing architecture standards across regions. Monitor health, performance, and capacity; analyze logs/traces to prevent incidents, minimize downtime, and optimize throughput. Provide expert-level diagnosis and resolution for complex mail flow issues, including encryption, email authentication, and anti-virus/anti-spam protections. Lead initiatives such as migrations, tenant consolidations, and M&A; define requirements and integration points with enterprise messaging apps and services. Handle day-to-day operations and escalations; mentor engineers/architects and foster a culture of learning, documentation, SOPs, and run-books. Partner on the management and operations of large-scale enterprise SaaS collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Google Workspace), including onboarding, provisioning, policy governance, and lifecycle management. Build strategy to enhance ecosystems with evolving technologies, including AI-driven automation of operations and administration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of proven experience architecting and managing Exchange Server (on-prem & SE), hybrid/Exchange Online (O365), Public Folders, SMTP, Active Directory, and Azure integrations
- Demonstrable ability to take end-to-end ownership of the experience for the users of the services
- Solid understanding of Exchange architecture, including DAGs (Database Availability Groups) and hybrid configurations
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation is crucial
- Knowledge of networking concepts related to email (DNS, VIP routing, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale messaging platforms and driving resolution for critical severity issues
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms — such as Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Google Workspace — including onboarding, day-to-day operations, and lifecycle management
- Ability to automate operations and administration of enterprise services leveraging AI, agents, and modern automation frameworks
- Passion to leverage Agentic AI to drive reliability, reduce toil, and improve the employee experience at scale
- Python scripting is a plus
