Job Summary
Own the Data Science function within Coupang's Search and Discovery org by analyzing customer interactions with search results to improve experience and business performance. Lead experiment ideation, design, measurement, and interpretation while building datasets to increase analysis speed and accuracy. Understand nuances of ML ranking models and LLMs to optimize core search product performance. Communicate data concepts simply to cross-functional teams up to the C-suite. Requires Master's degree, 8 years of experience, and expertise in experimentation, SQL, Python, and massive datasets. Base pay ranges from $174,000 to $290,000 annually depending on location, with comprehensive benefits including PTO, equity, and 401K matching.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a closely related field
- 8 years of Data Scientist experience in customer-facing technology companies
- Expertise in experimentation and statistics
- Strong coding skills, including SQL and R/Python
- Experience with massive datasets, with an understanding of how to optimize data extraction
- Ability to communicate data concepts simply and succinctly to cross-functional team members, up to the C-suite
- Understanding of ML concepts, and how different model configurations affect model outcomes
