Job Summary
Senior Staff Data Engineer at Faire focused on Platform Data and Analytics. Lead architecture and technology strategy across Data Infrastructure and Analytics Platform teams, guiding data ingestion, storage, compute, ETL/ELT pipelines, governance, security, cost tracking, and scalable analytics workflows. Provide mentorship and technical guidance on designing reliable, scalable data pipelines, data movement orchestration, warehousing, and foundational assets to empower Product, Data Science, Strategy & Analytics, and Finance teams. Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, and governance across the data stack. Qualifications emphasize data streaming and batch processing, Snowflake/Airflow/Spark proficiency, SQL/Python, petabyte-scale warehousing, and experience leading multiple teams in a growth-stage environment. The role is hybrid with in-office days in multiple locations and remote flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Data warehousing experience at Petabyte scale
- Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, Spark
- Experience designing, developing, and operating data streaming, batch, ETL/ELT, orchestration, storage, compute, workflow systems at scale
- Experience defining architecture patterns and building reliable, scalable data pipelines
- Experience diagnosing, mitigating, and addressing data system production issues at scale
- Experience operating in a growth-stage company with a data function consisting of multiple teams and over 60 people
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills
