Job Summary
Direct supervision of one to two staff attorneys, including writing professional development reviews and participating in routine supervision meetings. Recruit and program law interns and fellows, coordinating their assignments while assisting with training for new and existing staff. Represent the client in external policy efforts through committee and task force service, and lead Case Practice and Attorney Workgroup meetings. Provide second-seating opportunities for new attorneys, acting as lead counsel on particular cases and backing up supervisors on writing assignments and court appearances. Manage intake and day-to-day court supervision, drafting appeals, practice memos, and development materials. Requires at least three years representing indigent parents in family court, with flexible work-from-home options available.
Required Qualifications
- at least three years of experience representing indigent parents in Article 10/TPR family court proceedings and/or in related work with the family regulation system, court systems, or other relevant advocacy roles
- strong programmatic skills
- the ability to model best practices
- a willingness and aptitude for taking on an additional leadership role at CFR
- well organized in order to work efficiently and effectively beyond their own caseload
