Job Summary
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and complex journal entries while leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations; analyze financial results and investigate variances. Partner with project accountants on billing inquiries, oversee payroll, manage banking accounts, and assist with accounts payable, receivable, budgets, forecasts, and tax returns. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensure GAAP compliance, recommend process improvements, assist with ERP enhancements, and mentor junior staff. Collaborate with leadership on financial analysis. Hybrid work environment; additional hours required during month-end, year-end, or audit periods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a staff accountant or similar position
- Previous experience in project accounting for a professional services business
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience (Ajera, BQE, Paycom)
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and audits
- Office/Hybrid work environment
- Additional hours may be required during month-end, year-end, or audit periods
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward CPA
- Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
