Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary

Manage payroll functions, including processing, accruals, reversals, and reconciliations in the General Ledger, while overseeing 403(b) retirement plan deductions and compliance monitoring for IRS and state filings. Lead compliance efforts for state sales tax and federal requirements such as Form 990 and FBAR, and assist with audit preparation and coordination. Prepare and record separate entity journal entries for Biblica Europe Ministry Trust and Biblica Ministry Foundation, and support the Close the Bible Gap collective impact alliance by handling transactions and financial statement preparation. Coordinate ECFA annual reporting to maintain accreditation and collaborate with the Controller on royalty audits. This hybrid role requires a Colorado Springs-based candidate to work on-site at HQ one to two days per week. Full-time employment includes 40 hours per week with a salary range of $56,800 to $71,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Three to five years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Access
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Current passport required
  • Ability to travel to various locations locally, regionally, and globally
  • The ability for up to 20% overnight travel to various locations locally, regionally, and globally
  • Strong personal commitment to Christ and Biblica's Purpose, Mission Statement, and Statement of Faith, with no personal or professional conflicts with the Christian philosophy of Biblica
  • Takes full ownership of outcomes, proactively identifying gaps and acting without waiting for direction in a lean, high-autonomy environment
  • Quickly learns and applies new tools, technologies, and concepts, especially in rapidly evolving areas such as AI and automation

Desired Qualifications

  • Non-profit, multi-entity, and/or global experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software (preferred)
  • Experience with BambooHR or similar software (preferred)
