Job Summary
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Pylon, you will own reliability and operational excellence for production systems, focusing on designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes. You will build tooling to enhance the engineering team's effectiveness, establish on-call rotations, and ensure the platform's reliability in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will possess 4+ years of SRE experience, a track record of working with infrastructure at scale, deep AWS expertise, and strong automation skills, particularly with declarative infrastructure and Nix.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
- Experience working on a team of SREs at a company with mature SRE practices
- Real on-call experience at scale in a large production environment
- Deep AWS expertise (ECS, RDS, networking, security)
- Strong experience with declarative infrastructure (Terraform, CDK, or similar)
- Nix experience
- Track record of building reliability tooling and automation
- Ability to design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
Desired Qualifications
- Background in fintech, healthtech, or other regulated domains
- Experience migrating monitoring systems or implementing SLOs
- Contributions to infrastructure tooling or open source projects
- Experience at companies with strong SRE cultures (Google, Replit, Stripe, etc.)
