Job Summary
Senior Specialist, Planner-Buyer responsible for material planning and ordering for Devens Manufacturing facilities; creates Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders in SAP, maintains safety stocks and inventory projections, schedules material deliveries to meet target dates, and coordinates material releases in support of production and tech transfers. Collaborates with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology, Site Quality, Warehouse and Site Procurement to ensure materials are specified and available for manufacturing campaigns; assesses material risk, escalates mitigation strategies, and supports plant quality systems (Change controls, Deviations, assessments and CAPA). Participates in projects (tech transfers, SAP improvements) and leads continuous improvement to impact KPIs. Maintains master data and assists in SAP support; contributes to forecasting and supplier engagement. Strong emphasis on SAP proficiency, cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, multi-priority delivery, and enabling manufacturing schedules.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or science-related discipline
- A minimum of 3-5 years in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing role in a complex manufacturing environment with experience in production control/process orders/equivalent
- Experience and knowledge in Biologics manufacturing is preferred
- Experience in new product introduction strongly preferred
- Excellent knowledge in SAP strongly preferred
