Job Summary

Research, draft, and maintain practical legal know-how content addressing startup needs for Practical Law and Thomson Reuters products. Monitor market developments to ensure content accuracy and support the development of AI-powered legal tools like CoCounsel. Partner with Product Management to integrate AI into offerings and establish relationships with external law firm contributors. Support sales, marketing, and customer inquiries while utilizing internal AI editorial tools to optimize content development. This role sits at the intersection of law, technology, and AI-driven legal solutions within Practical Law's Capital Markets & Corporate Governance team.

Required Qualifications

  • JD required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house
  • significant amount of experience working with startup companies
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies
  • Deep curiosity about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice
  • desire to build legal prompt engineering skills
  • innovative content development methods that optimize AI responses for specific legal tasks
  • Understand current market issues and proposals to enact, amend, or change laws and regulations impacting US startups
  • Understand the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys, in-house counsel, and other startups professionals
  • Skill and passion for writing
  • the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and concisely in plain English
  • Innovative, agile thinker

  • This role can be located out of a home office anywhere in the United States if the candidate does not live near a Thomson Reuters office
