Senior Specialist, Human Resources Operations

Job Summary
Manage teachers' monthly payroll and oversee open enrollment for health and welfare plans while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and school policies. Maintain accurate staffing plans, budgets, and HRIS data, and resolve escalated employee, parent, and student issues in alignment with core values and legal requirements. Respond to non-urgent communications within 24 hours and urgent matters within two hours, coordinating with payroll, benefits, and management to maximize total rewards packages. This role supports Sage Oak's mission through strategic planning, staff training, and rigorous adherence to California Penal Code and school board specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HR-related experience
- State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan)
- Proof of a clear TB Tine test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days
- Computer and technology literacy
- Knowledge and experience using Google documents, Google spreadsheets, and other online collaboration tools
- Basic database skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Basic arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and direct a team
- Sound management skills
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate respective staff
- Ability to hear and speak to exchange information
- Dexterity of hands and fingers
- Ability to see to read a variety of materials
- Ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Available transportation and ability to drive up to 100 miles in a day
Desired Qualifications
- Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) or Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) HR professional certification
