Job Summary
Develop and maintain EHS programs, procedures, and training for site personnel while providing subject matter expertise in chemical safety, biosafety, waste management, and ergonomics. Investigate near misses and incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions, then track metrics to drive continuous improvement. Lead laboratory Gemba walks with site leadership, document findings, and prepare summary reports. Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and follow-up on findings, while collaborating with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies for site and lab processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (EHS related, Engineering, chemistry) plus 5+ years of EHS related experience
- Master's Degree (EHS related, Engineering, chemistry) plus 3 years of EHS related experience
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety programs and Cal/OSHA, DTSC, BAAQMD and EPA regulations
- Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, and managing cross-functional teams
- Ability to establish measurable project goals and implementation plans, balance conflicting work demands, and develop action plans
- Ability to develop standards and/or policies that meet business objectives
- Ability to actively listen, build, and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflict constructively
