Job Summary
Senior Data migration engineer responsible for end-to-end data migrations: extracting, transforming, and loading data between systems; designing migration strategies; mapping legacy data structures to target schemas; ensuring data quality, minimizing downtime, and maintaining governance and performance. Collaborates with Bangalore-based teams and Nasdaq groups in other countries, documents migration processes and mapping rules, and supports cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The role emphasizes developing and implementing data migration tools, data extraction/mapping/loading, and ensuring seamless transitions while aligning with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven experience in data engineering, database administration, or data migration roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with Linux
- Strong English communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional teamwork
