Senior Sourcing Manager – Wiring and Cable Harness

Job Summary
Lead sourcing and procurement for automotive cable and wiring harness assemblies, including connectors, wires, cables, terminals, and electronic parts. Develop strategic supplier relationships covering part development, validation, cable assembly outsourcing, overmolding, and tooling while ensuring on-time availability through proactive coordination and delay mitigation. Drive cost reduction via supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, value engineering, and localization. Manage a team of sourcing engineers, set performance goals, and support their development. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management teams during PPAP/APQP phases, applying ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS standards. Evaluate the supplier base for competitiveness, risk, and alignment with company goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 - 15 years
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics OR Mechanical Engineering
- Proven track record in sourcing wiring and cable harness systems in the automotive sector (OEM or Tier-1)
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, drawings, and manufacturing processes related to cable assemblies
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills with a focus on achieving target costs and improving supplier performance
- Experience working with global suppliers and managing component localization projects
- Proficiency in cost analysis, should-cost modeling, and other cost reduction methodologies
- Solid knowledge of sourcing processes, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and procurement best practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in leading engineering or sourcing teams
- Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards in the automotive industry
