Job Summary
Drive technical sales and executive influence by partnering with Account Executives to lead complex deals with large enterprises and digital native businesses. Evaluate customer architectural needs, uncover bottlenecks, and design end-to-end GPU cloud solutions, including authoring proposals, architecture diagrams, and collaborating on Bills of Materials for multi-node clusters. Lead hands-on proof-of-concept activities and benchmark evaluations across training and inference workloads to demonstrate performance advantages. Architect and optimize AI/ML workloads, guiding enterprise teams on structuring their lifecycle from distributed training to inference optimization. Serve as the technical voice of the customer internally, funneling field insights directly to Product and Engineering teams while creating enablement assets and leading technical workshops. Represent Lambda as a subject matter expert at industry conferences and webinars. This role requires presence in our San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office four days per week, with Tuesday designated as the work-from-home day.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record deploying, benchmarking, and optimizing workloads on NVIDIA GPU architectures (e.g., HGX platforms, NVLink) using deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, NeMo) and inference engines (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM)
- 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and scaling enterprise cloud infrastructure
- 4+ years in a Solution Architect, Solution Engineer, or technical customer-facing capacity supporting complex cloud environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting and deploying cloud-based AI/ML workloads
- Strong experience with modern infrastructure orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, SLURM, Terraform, and Ansible
- Deep knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, RoCE), distributed file systems (NFS, NVMe-oF, Weka, VAST), security, and cost optimization
- Experience coding in Python, Go, C/C++ (CUDA) or similar programming language
- Experience partnering with Account Executives to close complex cloud deals, present technical architectures to C-level stakeholders (CTOs, VP of Eng), and drive customer alignment
- Demonstrated impact at an organizational/multi-departmental level and are effective mentoring junior SEs or architects
- Presence in San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office location 4 days per week
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with end-to-end LLM fine-tuning, algorithm selection, pipeline design, or distributed training setups (3D parallelism, Megatron-LM)
- Prior experience with product launches, leading GTM initiatives, or publishing technical whitepapers/benchmarks
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, gRPC, and service-oriented cloud architectures
