Senior Solution Engineer – Federal Public Sector

Job Summary
Partner with Sales to navigate complex sales cycles and build trusted executive relationships within Australian Federal Public Sector accounts. Architect high-impact solutions by translating customer mission outcomes into concrete Snowflake capabilities, leading enterprise Proofs of Concept from initial whiteboarding through design. Present technology roadmaps and vision to senior government stakeholders while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to refine offerings based on direct feedback. Demonstrate technical value hands-on across the sales cycle, maintaining deep expertise in enterprise-scale data architectures and cloud platforms. Maintain high in-person presence in Canberra to engage directly with key stakeholders and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Hold an active Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher preferred) or have the eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Base location in Canberra with a commitment to maintaining high in-person office presence and direct customer interaction.
- 10+ years of overall technical industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a pre-sales / solution engineering role.
- Proven ability to translate complex business and mission problems directly into scalable data architectures and actionable solutions.
- Outstanding presentation and storytelling skills tailored for both technical audiences and executive leadership (whiteboarding, presentations, and live demos).
- Broad experience with enterprise-scale Database and Data Warehouse technologies, ETL, analytics, and cloud platforms (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric).
- Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
- Ability to perform deep discovery of a customer's architectural framework and map it to Snowflake's Data Architecture.
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus.
- Deep domain expertise and existing networks within key Federal Public Sector domains: Defence and National Security Agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, Federal Health Agencies.
- Experience working alongside Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) such as EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.
