Senior Solution Development Engineer

Job Summary
Translate customer requirements into technically feasible, simulation-validated solution concepts and robust system architectures. Perform modeling, prototyping, and engineering analysis to validate design decisions before execution. Develop detailed mechanical, electrical, controls, and software designs tailored for complex robotic systems. Evaluate technical tradeoffs to make data-driven recommendations and define system requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria. Identify and mitigate risks early by partnering with Solution Execution teams to incorporate manufacturing and deployment considerations. Lead design reviews to surface gaps and produce comprehensive Solution Development Packages as the baseline for execution. Incorporate field feedback into future engineering standards. Work within a fast-growing scale-up building autonomous industrial robotics with headquarters in Austin, TX and a demo lab in San Francisco.
Required Qualifications
- Completed vocational training or a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or comparable experience
- Several years of experience (5+ years) in robotic system design, simulation, and multi-disciplinary solution engineering
- Proven track record in mechanical, electrical, or controls design, alongside system simulation and risk mitigation frameworks
- Strong ability to evaluate complex technical tradeoffs and communicate risks clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Very good English skills
- German is a plus
