Senior Solution Architect (Consultant / B2B Contractor)

Job Summary
Analyze RFPs, client briefs, and discovery outputs to produce high-level solution architectures under tight timelines. Design end-to-end architectures spanning cloud, AI, integrations, security, and automation while translating business requirements into system designs including integrations, data flows, APIs, security, and scalability. Lead or support technical discovery sessions, client workshops, and architecture reviews, and create architecture documentation, solution diagrams, and technical sections for proposals. Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and approaches relevant to each engagement, and review existing architectures to recommend modernization strategies. Provide architectural guidance during project delivery and support delivery teams in critical design decisions. This B2B contract engagement offers flexible, project-based opportunities with hourly compensation, primarily remote with occasional client or internal workshop participation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting
- Broad technical range - able to architect solutions across different domains: enterprise software,cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, RPA, security, data platforms
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, integration patterns, and modern application architectures
- Experience with pre-sales, proposal writing, or RFP response processes
- Understanding of security, governance, scalability, and reliability best practices
- Experience in consulting or agency environments with multiple parallel client engagements
- Exceptional communication - able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fast learner - can absorb a new domain or technology area quickly and produce meaningful output with minimal onboarding
- Pragmatic - delivers 'good enough' architectures on deadline rather than perfect architectures too late
- Presentation skills - comfortable leading workshops, presenting to clients, and defending architectural decisions
- Collaborative - works well with delivery teams, PMs, and stakeholders across time zones

Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLM-based solutions, AI agents, RAG architectures, or AI platform design
- Experience with RPA platforms (UiPath, Power Automate, or similar)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Microsoft, AWS, TOGAF, or other relevant architecture certifications
- Experience with solution estimation and effort/cost modeling for proposals
