Job Summary
Define and maintain the overall Robotic Procedure Automation software system architecture across control software, HW UI, intervention applications, teleoperation infrastructure, and AI systems. Shape long-term architecture for product lifecycle management, including software configuration management, deployment architecture, and documentation synchronization. Own cross-element architecture for safety allocation, cybersecurity, requirements traceability, and verification readiness in a regulated medical-device environment. Technically govern vendor-delivered work by defining architecture constraints, interface expectations, and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with software, system engineering, Quality Management, cybersecurity, and suppliers across NL and US sites. Work in-person at least three days per week in Best, Netherlands, with approximately 15% travel for cross-site planning and integration activities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture, software system architecture, system engineering, or regulated medical-device software development
- experience working under medical-device or similarly regulated quality systems
- working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, design control, traceability, risk management, and audit-ready documentation practices
- master's degree or PhD in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- full-time presence in the company's facilities
- Some travel (appx 15%) is required for cross-site planning, supplier alignment, and integration activities
